Stanley in the States

Stanley has taken the looong flight over the pond and made it to the States. He had so much fun, he visited lots of places in Illinois, Indiana and Colorado.
After having flown into Denver, Stanley took the 15-hour drive to Indiana. There, he went canoeing on the Tippecanoe river, visited relatives in southern Illinois and went to our wedding party. Stanley also visited Chicago, where he saw Millennium Park with it's fountains and 'the Bean'; he saw the 'Eyeball' and went up the Hancock building to get a bird's-eye view of Chicago. The icing on the cake was, of course, a Cubs baseball game at Wrigley field.
Then he drove back to Denver to see an amazing concert at Red Rocks. He also saw his first 3D movie and went climbing. Unfortunately, he was left behind (sorry Stanley) on our backpacking trip to Conundrum Hot Springs in the Rocky Mountains. He wouldn't have been able to bathe in the hot water anyway...
Stanley went to yet another of our wedding parties :) (the Colorado one) and visited Denver, Estes Park and Boulder, all cool places in Colorado. Then he got on a plane to fly back to Slovakia. Stanley had a lot of fun and saw many cool places during the summer! Thanks for following his adventures.

Branč

Today, Stanley went to the ruin of the castle Branč, not far from Myjava. He had been there before, so this time he could show around our American and South African friends, who live in Australia and came to visit. Good times!

Smolenice

Yesterday, Stanley took a hike to Smolenický zámok. He walked through the forests and meadows in the area and then climbed over a hundred stairs to get to the top of the castle tower. There was great view of the area from the tower. Unfortunately, we forgot the camera so we don't have pictures :( Next time...

traveling central europe

Our Stanley has been busy since the end of the school year. First, he came to our wedding and he had so much fun.

After that, he traveled in Central Europe. First, he went to Český Krumlov to see the beautiful historic town in the south of the Czech Republic. He walked the streets of the town, visited the castle and the gardens, and climed to the top of the castle tower. He also saw the local brewery and tasted trdelník. On the way back home he stopped to see the castle in Jindřichův Hradec.

A few days later Stanley traveled to Krakow, Poland. He saw the biggest Medieval square in the world, the churches, the university where Copernicus studied hundreds of years ago, the Wawel castle and he was a bit afraid to see the Krakow dragon spitting fire. Last weekend, Stanley went to Hainburg, Austria and to the Devín castle.

How about your Stanley? Looking forward to reading more stories.

Stanley

Stanley is finishing his school year and looking forward to the summer. He is ready to set out on the first of his many adventures!

Inspired by Jeff Brown's book 'Flat Stanley', we decided to take our Stanley with us on trips and vacations to show him around the world. We will be posting pictures and stories of Stanley all through the summer.

I'm looking forward to hearing about your and Stanley's adventures! Have fun and keep us posted.
